It is amazing going through the Woodland Park Zoo's gallery just how naturalistic the entire zoo is. Exhibit after exhibit is based on the theme of visitor immersion, and it works wonderfully well.
I agree. The Woodland Park Zoo has done a great job of exhibit design. The exhibit that impressed me the most when I visited a few years ago was the Grizzly Bear exhibit. By far the best I have ever seen. The Orangutan exhibit was also very good.
It seems many of us keep bringing back memories of Seattle's Grizzly exhibit. Its truly a memorable experience from this great zoo, and I haven't been back in 13 years!
I've visited Woodland Park Zoo 8 times so far this year (and that will probably be it due to the frigid temperatures) and it is truly one of the very best zoos in North America. Countless exhibits have won awards for their naturalistic qualities, and the oldest and arguably worst part of the zoo (sumatran tiger, sloth bear, sun bear grottoes) are all being demolished in favour of a brand-new area in the next few years.
