Incredibly bad practice for zoos to do this, and far too many do to show off [look how cool this is, they glow in the dark under UV lighting]. Yes, but they are highly sensitive to UV lighting and it should never be used as it's highly detrimental to their health.
There is absolutely no need for zoos to do this as it doesn't enhance the animals' welfare [complete opposite, it's a step back], just seems to be catering to young boys that like to say "wooow!" in that gormless drone that children in zoos do!
