Crazy, right? The first one I saw was at the zoo in Cuernavaca and I thought it was a dog they were treating for a skin condition. Clearly my Spanish wasn't up to the vocabulary I needed for the conversation I had with someone who worked there about it. I noticed they had this breed at the Westminster Dog Show in New York this year.

Yes realy strange. I know domesticated dogs were kept in zoos in the early history of zoos but didn´t know this was happening still today !!

I just added a photo of the sign. It was hard to get a decent picture of the dogs because of the plexiglass.
