It still has a zoo licence or it wouldn't be allowed to operate. It's not going to be back in BIAZA any time soon, I wouldn't have thought.
And I really dont think 'the rope aint that short' is any defense for this - it's 2m, maybe 3m - remember this animal is in a public gangway and has no way to get away from visitors at all and nothing to occupy itself except to sleep and drink. It can't even trot around a pen or a yard - and being tied to a fence, its range of movement is a semi-circle about 2-3m in radius. If someone kept a wolf in an area like that there'd be an outcry.
As ever, this picture is some years old and I haven't been back since, so I cannot say if this still goes on.
What are you lot on about? This is the owner’s pet Labrador who is brought out during the day to walk round and be made a fuss of by visitors and staff. I personally roll around the floor with her and she loves it, she has a bed by the lambs and sits there when her owner dose the animal talk.
She is only tied so she doesn’t wonder off to play with the kids and If not for distractions of that nature would no doubt just take advantage of the rest.
Do you not have pets? You should if you look after them well they will enrich your life.
I realise your comments are balanced and how long would be a good question but as you know this started with a statement of imagine being tied up all day and that has nothing to do with this dog.
