I've seen someone post before that this species is very rare in (or absent from?) US zoos.
They're pretty common in the UK and the rest of Europe now, but I remember the first time I went to Cotswold Wildlife Park in the nineties it was particularly to see this species - they were the only ones in the country at the time and were kept for years in the quarantine centre, viewable only through two windows across a corridor.
