I am currently obsessed with YWAP and am wondering how they are progressing with saving this polar bear?

Relocation is more adequate a term than saving. Morelia zoo officials have not mentioned publicly any plans for moving Yupik. Profepa ( Protección federal del medio ambiente) who would have to approve the transfer has not mentioned anything either.
The fact that Arturo the polar bear who lives in Argentina was not moved to Canada may have influenced this situation.

On the 21st of july, 2014, Secretario de urbanismo y medio ambiente de Michoacan, Lic. Mauro Ballesteros annouced new plans to rebuild Yupik´s enclousure with federal funds.
There are no plans for moving Yupik from Morelia zoo he said.

Hopefully they are not going to be inspired by Singapore Safari!

Broadly speaking they have a similar climate!

According to Wikipedia:

Morelia: The climate here is between temperate and subtropical with medium humidity. Most precipitation falls during the summer rainy season. Average monthly temperatures are between 14 and 22°C, with maximum temperatures of 38.5°C in the early summer. Under the Köppen climate classification, Morelia has a Subtropical highland climate, with warm-to-hot days and cool nights year round due to its high altitude.

Singapore has a tropical rainforest climate with no distinctive seasons, uniform temperature and pressure, high humidity, and abundant rainfall. Temperatures usually range from 22 to 35 °C. Relative humidity averages around 79% in the morning and 73% in the afternoon.
