From this pose, and the way she behaved, I got the impression that she was a thinker, and a bit more level-headed than the others. Tatu was more mischeivious (a typical boy), and Bamenda was content to lie on her back in the sun and hold her foot.
 
Funny to see her in pre London days. She must have been at the latter for 28 years now (?)

Pondering what life would hold for her- yes, 28 years at London Zoo, one baby successfully reared and sent away, then a succession of unsuccessful males that turned her into a non-breeder for the rest of her life.:( What a productive move.:rolleyes:

I fear that further comment is utterly superfluous....:(
 
I do feel very sorry for Zaire whenever I see her. The only upside is that genetically she isn't that valuable, being from a well-represented line- but that's not much comfort to her.
