Zebra Paddock 10th October 1998

Z is for Zebra- and Zoo.

A nice little scene-with apparently decent fencing and shelter too.

For me Zebras are probably the quintessential 'Zoo' animal- there is something about the combination of the shared 'Z's and the animals' bright colour contrasts that spells 'exotic zoo animal'. Particularly Plains Zebra as here.

The Zebras were usually in the paddock on the other side of the fence - that was where the hardstanding was and a larger shelter. I think the animals may have had access to both paddocks on this day, I'll just see if it says anything in my notes - no, nothing about the Zebras but to digress the Yellow Baboons had gone and the Olives had double the space. The paddock behind the fence was taken from the zoo for the Magnum Force ride, but since that was dismantled it is a paddock once again and now serves the second Giraffe House. It all looks very different though.

I agree about Zebras as zoo animals.
