This is one of the only known complete Columbian mammoth tusks found at the La Brea tar pits.
A recent excavation was undertaken when the art museum next to the Page Museum and tar pits built a parking garage. 23 large cases of fossils were excavated and are now being analyzed. One of the star finds so far is an 80% complete Columbian mammoth which has been named Zed.
