The row of larger bird of prey aviaries in ZOO Antwerpen. These aviaries house monk vultures (Aegypius monachus), bataleur eagles (Terathopius ecaudatus) and Andean condors (Vultur gryphus). The monk vulture is one of the flagship species of the KMDA and one of its main conservation efforts.
The red archways behind the aviaries are part of the roof of Antwerpen Centraal Station, one of the biggest railway stations in Western Europe.
The Bird of Prey aviaries that were originally built as part of the Jubilee Complex which opened in 1968 to celebrate the zoos 125th anniversary (also including the Nocturama, Aquaforum and Carnivore exhibits).
