ZOO Antwerpen - Egyptian Temple (Duiker)

  • Media owner Toddy
  • Date added
The three indoor exhibits for blue duikers (Philantomba monticola) and natal red duikers (Cephalophus natalensis) inside the Egyptian Temple in ZOO Antwerpen.
Two of the exhibits in this picture have white paint over the glass sections. This is because the red duiker had just moved in and the ZOO was attempting to lessen stress for the animal. Until a few years ago these exhibit housed lowland anoas (Bubalus depressicornis).

The Egyptian Temple is the oldest animal house in the zoo built in 1856 and now functions as an elephant/giraffe house.

ZOO Antwerpen, July 2011.
