ZOO Antwerpen - Egyptian Temple (Elephant)

The larger of the two indoor rooms for Asian elephants (Elephas maximus) inside the Egyptian Temple in ZOO Antwerpen. This room as night quarters for four of the five females currently living in ZOO Antwerpen. The elephant herd is scheduled to move to a grand new exhibit in Planckendael in 2012.

The Egyptian Temple is the oldest animal house in the zoo built in 1856 and now functions as an elephant/giraffe house.
