@Gondwana Have there ever been realistic plans to bring rhinos to the Minnesota Zoo? It seems odd that they would celebrate them in art like this without some notion that they might build a rhino exhibit eventually.
@DavidBrown Black Rhinos were supposed to be featured in the proposed "Africa Trail", which was apart of the now redundant 2012 Master Plan. I believe there were plans during the 70s or 80s for an Indian Rhino exhibit behind the Tropics Trail, along with other species like Sumatran Rhino, Gaur, and Asian Elephant. I doubt the zoo will be bringing in Rhinos, let alone any other major new species, for at least the foreseeable future.
