Zoo Entrance- Old Sea Lion Enclosure

The construction fence that was previously around the Galápagos Islands has been moved to surround the old sea lion enclosure. On the zoo’s new map, you can see that this area is planned to be “Jack’s Cafe” a new guest plaza with food, drinks, restrooms, ice cream, family photography, coffee etc.
The sea lions just received a huge upgrade, because this is what their exhibit looked like when I visited the zoo in 2010:

@snowleopard built in the 1950s and it shows. That sea lion exhibit was one of the oldest in the zoo right next to the carnivore area but atleast those exhibits are still decent to good. This sea lion enclosure was outdated, inadequate, and gave guests a bad first impression of what the Houston Zoo has to offer. Even with all of that it somehow stayed open until now. Good riddance I say.
