This is the renovated the old great ape house, which was, even though it was built in the 90s, terrible. The exhibits were not good at all and two orang-utans actually died due to bad air ventilation.
This is the renovated the old great ape house, which was, even though it was built in the 90s, terrible. The exhibits were not good at all and two orang-utans actually died due to bad air ventilation. But this enclosure is just great, they partly removed the roof and gave all the space to the mandrills. The visitor can walk around the enclosure on different levels with interesting viewing possibilities. The mandrills also have 2 (i think) full indoor enclosure which they can reach by going over the visitors path, these indoor enclosures are also visible for the visitor. The picute shows about 2/3 of the enclosure.
