Even just comparing this with the map from 1999 there are some huge changes. What is the 'New at Easter' exhibit by the giraffe? Is that kangaroo exhibit part of the Coati exhibit and Animal Adventure now or something else?
@JVM I believe it was the refurbishment of the Cotton Terraces, when the name 'Into Africa' was applied and the wild dogs moved in. There was a second phase later that basically swapped over the hippos and tapirs to make the area all-African. I'd forgotten how much of the zoo was being worked on at once in this period!
Edit: and yes, under the kangaroo is the far end of Animal Adventure.
@Maguari Thank you for the info! It's amazing going back over these maps after visiting the zoo and suddenly all the history is clicking into place so easily. I hadn't realized the renovation of the terraces into Into Africa was that recent!
