Now that the zoo has lost its AZA-accreditation 4 out of the 5 grizzly bears have to be sent away to accredited institutions. Only Bruno, a grizzly obtained from Knoxville Zoo in 2008, will be allowed to stay because the Knoxville authorities in Tennessee have given their approval for that to occur. There are other animals at Zoo Montana, including an Amur tiger and red pandas, who might all have to leave as without AZA-accreditation the zoo is now hanging on by its fingertips but will more than likely remain open with depleted resources.
