Zoogiraffe and the Night Sika at Wildpark Pforzheim, 02/09/10

The park does not close, and you could go in at any time of the night if you wished. We arrived just before dusk and stayed until it was dark as we called in on the way back from a long day at Wilhelma.


The deer collection is excellent, including European Moose, Siberian Wapiti, Carpathian Red Deer, European Roe Deer, European Fallow, Axis Deer and Domestic Reindeer as well as these intriguingly nocturnal Sika.

This place sounds absolutely fantastic ! The night idea is brilliant & obviously depends on the well-behaved nature of the visitors. I imagine the concept might not work in certain other countries , regions or cities (many will have their ideas on where these may be). Also, a serious deer collection is always a huge & memorable pleasure to behold.
