This exhibit is even larger than what is shown in the photo, and overall the South American section of the zoo is very impressive.

Is this the best Spectacled Bear exhibit in North America? as I can't remember seeing a better one in other zoos.

You might be right Mario, as there are not that many classic spectacled bear exhibits that immediately come to mind. Maybe you should start a thread on the best zoo exhibits for all 8 species of bears. Grizzly, american black, asiatic black, sun, sloth, polar, spectacled and giant panda. We can skip the subspecies...haha.

Queens and Houston have decent Spectacled bear exhibits. I dislike this one because of the hideous "Flintstone" rockwork and awful iron bars (with spikes!). No doubt the animal space is very nice but it has serious flaws from a public presentation standpoint. It seems like something from the East Berlin zoo--big but poorly detailed.

The best by far is Zurich

We need a ranking of North American bear exhibits, and then a separate list of worldwide bear exhibits. The spectacled bear/coati habitat at the Zurich Zoo is perhaps one of the greatest zoo enclosures of all time!
