Wonderful animal. Don't think I've seen Zorilla since London Zoo had the species in the '70s. Bit misleading, as far as the public's concerned however, to have Zorilla at a place that endeavours to concentrate on South American animals.
Sorry to bear bad news but during a visit in February (2012) I was told by a member of staff that they no longer had the Zorilla, "Flower", and that it had died a couple of years ago.

Certainly not 2008 - Flower was very much alive in July 2009 - check my photo linked above! Would be interesting to know if they've retained the enclosure - was rather an odd one.
Flower the zorrila died in 2010, since then it has held tortoises. At onE stage there was also a pair of meerkats kept in this!
Zorrila are still kept privately ... If only kept by a few keepers so their is still some hope. Sharan striped polecat are also kept privately in the uk.and are distinct from the zorrila.

As someone particularly interested in the Galictine mustelids - that is to say, the Zorilla (Ictonyx striatus), Saharan Striped Polecat (Ictonyx libycus), African Striped Weasel (Poecilogale albinucha), Marbled Polecat (Vormela peregusna), Greater Grison (Galictis vittata) and Lesser Grison (Galictis cuja) - I really do hope the group has something of a revival.
Currently the only one being held in more than one public collection is the Marbled Polecat, and I believe there are no African Striped Weasels or Lesser Grison in European private hands at all.
Lesser Grison i would agree with you but I think there may be some african striped weasel in private hands, the reason I say this is because I was offered some about 3 years ago now from Netherlands. I don't know their fate however so I cannot be 100% sure.
