Baltimore Zoo (1979 - 1981): Sucessfully raised over 50 species of waterfowl, 3 species of ratites, 6 species of Cranes, 6+ species of African softbills, South African penguins. Revolutionized waterfowl nesting structures. Chapter president of AAZK.

National Aquarium in Baltimore (1981 - 1989): Assisted with the capture and raising of Atlantic puffins, Razorbills, and Common murres. 1st North American laying of Atlantic Puffin eggs, Developed the Aquarium's Neotropical Rainforest Exhibit, with (3) 1st-World breedings of: Yellow-hooded blackbird, San Blas jay, and Black-spotted barbet. Other significant species bred: Yellow cardinal, Graynecked woodrails, Ringed teal, Sunbittern, Hawk-headed parrot, Sun conure, Scarlet ibis, Blue-crowned motmot, Spangled cotinga (nest and eggs, no hatching). Tanagers: Silver-beaked (hand raised from eggs), Silver-throated, Blue gray, Green-and-gold. Engineeered "Howdy cages" for new species' introductions. Designed artificial Motmot "burrow" nest boxes, tear-droped nests for Troupials.
Developed large collection of over 20 species of Poison dart frogs, revolutionizing rearing techniques. 250+ species of Neotropical plants, including orchids, bromeliads, aroids, marantas, ficus, bamboo, various native spice and food shrubs and trees.
