Surprisingly, a sudden refurbishment on Gorilla Falls’ colobus enclosure has officially begun; with construction walls already erected on site, and the colobus troop being relocated to a behind-the-scenes area for the time being.

Additionally, according to the article, the refurbishment is estimated to last 4-5 months; though, such a date could always fluctuate and may end up lasting longer (or shorter) than expected.

Again, I believe the giraffe was already at Disney for a few years to eliminate an unecessary loan, there are often multiple giraffes "transferred" from the LA Zoo each month, though they have been at their new facilities for months or even years already.

I did not realize before that was what that had meant so my apologies there for the confusion.

The animals don’t even necessarily have to have ever been present at Los Angeles, either. Often times loan agreements stipulate that every so many offspring belong to the owners of each parent, so an animal can be owned by a facility that it or even its parents have never lived at.
