The flamingo exhibit is a cordoned off area of the lake. This exhibit formally housed Crowned Cranes, Demoiselle Cranes and Parma Wallabies in addition to the flamingos.
The spider monkey island is one of the oldest exhibits in the 'new zoo'. New plans will see a rope bridge contracted between this island and another in the middle of the lake. A pair of Coscoroba Swans formally used this waterway but they are now in an adjoining lake exhibit.
The lake formally housed a group of White Pelicans and Cormorants, however in recent years it has only been occupied by wild waterfowl. Plans for the near future will see a rope bridge constructed connecting this island to the existing spider monkey island in the other area of the lake.
The Yellow Mongoose brother/sister pair arrived in 2017 from Bristol. Their exhibit is in the farm area of the zoo and occupies the space once home to the ring tailed lemur troop before their relocation to another area of the zoo.
