Hi everyone!
On May 26th, I visited Happy Hollow Park & Zoo for the first time. The number of birds at this zoo is almost the same amount as those I counted at Micke Grove Zoo. Here are the handful of bird species I noted:
Zoo in the Hollow
Ndege Maji Aviary
White-faced whistling-duck...
This is another place I've read about and always wanted to visit but never had the time to get around. On April 13th, 2022, I finally got my chance to visit. As with all of my bird rosters, I will list what I saw. I'll also mention what species are listed on their website and I'll either put a...
Having lived in Northern California all my life, I've always seen the sign for this zoo off of Highway 99 for a while now and on April 28, 2022, my curiosity got the better of me and I finally visited the zoo.
As some of you know, I'm a proud bird nerd, and so when I do species lists /...
On Wednesday, February 17, 2022, I went to the San Francisco Zoo to test out my new telephoto lens on my camera and to also see which birds are left at the San Francisco Zoo. (*) means the signage was up but not seen during trip. (†) means the species has since left the zoo. BOLD means new to...
This list was from my first trip to the Brookfield Zoo. I unfortunately didn't get to seeing the entire zoo but I will post my list of birds I did see and didn't see. If there are other species that aren't mentioned here, please let me know. Thank you :)

This was my first visit to what I call the main San Diego Zoo. I also did the behind-the-scenes tour, hoping to see some species that were off exhibit. Like with the San Diego Safari Park post, I will post species I saw and those that were listed but didn't get to see. Below is the list of...
This was my first trip and I took this trip on my birthday. Now, I want to state that even though I arrived when the park opened and stayed until they closed, I still didn't get to see everything the safari park had to offer.
List of birds seen during my trip:
Elegant crested-tinamou...
Hi everyone:

Hello everyone:
This is my first post on here. I'm an inveterate bird nerd, and I've always enjoyed going to zoos. My intense interest in zoos and their bird collections didn't start to intensify until after an avicultural conference in Miami in 2019. Since then, I've been keeping myself...
How do you like bird flight shows in zoos?
I liked one at Villars-les-Dombes, France. First, there was no presenter. The birds came off stage, flew or fed on the open air and flew away. This blew up the whole concept of 'captive animals'. Then perhaps 40 species from many diverse groups were...
Hornbills are one of my favorite groups of birds, thanks to their striking appearance and fascinating behaviors. I am interested in learning about zoos that keep a large diversity of these animals, zoos with less commonly kept species, and zoos with otherwise interesting or notable hornbill...
