A photograph dated to 11 June 2006 of the Bactrian Camel, during the period where they replaced the Elephants at the Casson Pavillion (aka the Cassons).
Found this on my old Windows XP hard drive after I finally got it out of the PC. Taken on a PENTAX Optio S6, originally 2816 x 2112 resolution.
Although camels are sort of a taken for granted, ABC animal, domestic Bactrian camels can serve as animal ambassadors for wild Bactrian camels.
I do enjoy seeing dromedary camels contrasted next to Bactrian camels, personally, and I slightly prefer dromedaries.
Honorary mention for guanacos...
Hopefully this photo is ok to post to the gallery. I asked if images of visitors where their no identifying features can be seen are ok, and administration said it should be fine. If this photo has to be taken down though, I understand.
