A lot of dismantling has already been done to the interior of the house, which the zoo hope to reopen early next year. Look forward to seeing if they add new species.
Like in Fota, the penguins at Dublin now have netting above the entire enclosure. This will keep out the herons that used to come into the enclosure, and so reduce the risk of bird flu.
Thought this development was too interesting to not take note of. It gives the giraffes and their neighbours another shelter from the elements besides their houses.
Don't mind the prams in the picture. It's great that Dublin have another sheltered indoor viewing area, having started this trend with the bongos and African wild dogs (now cheetah).
Will be part of a larger Indian Elephant exhibit. The barn features 3 stalls and a skylight. Outside there are two training/holding yards, and a weighing station. Inspired by Dublin Zoo.
Both of the new red howlers that recently arrived from Tierpark Berlin, in a rather rude photo where one of them shows his - should I say - unmentionable body part! I have to say, I was quite surprised when the zoo first announced them, and I think they're a really nice addition to the zoo.
