    African forest elephant ivory retrieved from sunken Portuguese ship

    A haul of African forest elephant ivory, comprising more than a hundred tusks, has been retrieved from the wreck of a Portuguese ship that sunk in 1533. DNA analysis shows that the tusks came from seventeen genetically distinct herds of forest elephants. See link below for details...
