Karlsruhe Zoo visited on 10.09.2022

This species has such an odd head shape. Its so elongated. I was happy to be able to capture it with its bill open like that. This was one of several points in my visit where it lightly rained so the way it made the lake surface look adds to the drama quite nicely I think.

Nuremburg Zoo 2021 This Lake is Home to Wild Mallards, Dalmatian and Great White Pelicans, Bar headed and Emperor Goose, White Stork, Great Cormorant, Common Grey Heron, Crested Screamer

Tierpark Gaxhardt 2021 This Lake is Home to Domestic Duck, Egyptian Goose, Carolina Wood Duck, Black Swan and a Great White Pelican. They have an Island where the Pelican was Sleeping during my Visit.

Tierpark Gaxhardt 2021 The Egyptian Geese are free roaming but are signed for the Waterfowl Lake.

This enclosure is for black swans, swan gooses (also called Chinese mute gooses), domestic gooses, barnacle gooses and ducks, among others. The enclosure on the right is for dogs (owned by the owners and not open to the public).
