Like Arctic Passage, this map is not affiliated with my exhibit showcase thread; but I nonetheless wanted to experiment my map-making skills with this original design.
Just wanted to know everyone's opinions on this. Is it okay for zoos to put llamas into mixed species exhibits with rheas, capybaras, etc. or should they stick to guanacos or vicunas instead of llamas.
I'm creating an Andes Mountains area for a fantasy zoo and I'm trying to look for Andean species that are kept in zoos, mostly European and North American ones. Not counting things like llamas and alpacas coz they're domesticated and cougars since they're mostly from North America
So far I've...
Opposite the spectacled bears is this rhea and guanaco paddock. Bat house and tapir shelter can be seen in the background. Taken in 2005 (prior to this the paddock held a roan antelope.)
A South American display for Sealions, and penguins. Should be able to take a big groups of penguins and waterfowl, and around 8 sea lions.
Maybe not quite to scale, but to give some idea of size, the bigger penguin pool would be similar to edinburgh's bigger pool.
