Melibe leonina | Unfortunately the glare + scratches on the glass made it impossible to focus, but MaST is the only aquarium to exhibit them here in Washington. I don't understand why we don't exhibit them at Seattle, they're such an iconic creature
Melibe leonina | 18/11/23 at Deception Pass, Washington. A rare sight of one actually swimming to move to another spot, it's weird how their mouth / hood curls in like that. It landed on a different piece of Kelp a few feet away and then sprawled out like you normally see them
Melibe leonina | 18/11/23 at Deception Pass, Washington. They are everywhere at the dock during the late fall and winter months. Doesn't make sense to me why no aquariums here keep them since they're such an amazing species
