A reconstruction of several Mesozoic Crocodylomorphs based on those I have and will photograph; Montsecosuchus, Sarcosuchus, Dakosaurus, Metriorhynchus, Steneosaurus and Neosteneosaurus
Tyrannosaurus starts his day with a rumbling broadcast, not dissimilar from the thunderstorm that has just passed. One of the hatchlings decides to join the chorus.
Two male Pachycephalosaurus dispute their right to breed with a herd of females, as those and the youngsters look on.
Here I've gone with the controversial view that Dracorex and Stigymoloch are juvenile forms. I'm 50/50 on that theory.
A reconstruction of several Mesozoic birds based on those I have and will photograph (and some I can't); Hesperornis, Ichthyornis, Jeholornis, Confuciusornis, Iberomesornis and Falcatakely
As many of us do so like extinct animals, I thought why not start a thread to share our favourite Mesozoic animals... By category?!
Remember, you can add or change any categories you like in your posts; the following is just how I do it;
Sauropodomorph: Apatosaurus
Ornithopod: Ouranosaurus...
Welcome to Zoo City, a city with five distinct zoological collections! In this first entry, we have a place with no living animals, but instead countless priceless biological specimens and a whole lot more; the Grand Conservatory Natural History Museum.
Next up: Grand Conservatory Aquarium.
On this last Meso-poster, we have various unrelated marine reptiles; the Placodont Placodus, the marine crocodiles Dakosaurus and Plesiosuchus, the sea turtle Archelon and the mosasaurs Clidastes, Prognathodon and Plotosaurus.
I hope you've enjoyed the Meso-posters, everyone!
On this first non-dinosaurian Meso-poster, we have a selection of long-tailed pterosaurs of the Triassic and Jurassic. Featuring Peteinosaurus, Preondactylus, Caviramus, Caelestiventus, Sordes, Dendronychoides, Harpactognathus and Rhamphorhynchus.
They're back, at last! This one features a selection of ornithopods and a heterodontosaur; Tianyulong, Fabrosaurus, Leaellynnasaurus, Zalmoxes, Nipponosaurus, Edmontosaurus, Mutaburrasaurus and Charonosaurus.
On this season of giving, I give you the return of the Meso-posters, with a wide array of coleurosaurs;
Pelecanimimus polyodon, Shuvuuia deserti, Compsognathus longipes, Falcarius utahensis, Australovenator wintonensis, Gallimimus bullatus and Therizinosaurus cheloniformis.
The first in my line of Mesozoic group charts, a collection of coelophysoids and dilophosaurids from the late Triassic and early Jurassic, featuring (front to back):
- Procompsognathus triassicus
- Coelophysis bauri
- Dilophosaurus wetherilli
- Cryolophosaurus ellioti
