I made this thread to bust the popular “Sugar glider co-hab = bad idea” rumor, or not. It’s still an interesting idea to see if there have been any cases where a sugar glider & another mammal species roaming around in the same enclosure worked out well.

Who has an idea for a animal that can go together with hippos(Hippopotamus amphibius)? Or know any mixed enclosures existing? It would really help me out for a hippo enclosure.

What are some of the species that you have seen living with, or that currently live with gorillas in captivity? Here's a few off the top of my head:
Artis group = meerkats and Sykes' monkeys
Burgers' Zoo group = golden-bellied mangabeys
Apenheul group = black-nosed patas monkeys and L'Hoest's...
The outdoor aviary for white-faced sakis and pygmy hippopotamus. A very nice exhibit, although the hippoes could use a bit more water (there is more than in this picture).

Photo taken August 2004 at Jacksonville Zoo's Plains of East Africa area. This yard contains Bongo, Speke's Gazelle, Impala, and Southern Ground Hornbills.
The new rainforest house in Dortmund Zoo, built to house sumatran orang-utans and malayan tapirs. The outdoor enclosure is split in two by a low wall of rocks, keeping the tapirs on one side, but letting the orangs use both sides.
