orang utans

Hello, Do you know of any zoos where Orangutans are in enclosures shared with land mammals other than primates? In the wild, they cohabit well with tapirs, elephants, etc. and I'm surprised not to find any examples of this in zoos. If there aren't any, do you know why exactly ? Adax

Since many species ( in particular ungulates and primates) have the problem with to many males, since they live in male dominated groups, whit only one adult male. For many species, are bachlor groups the sollution. Because because of their social groups in case of gibbons and chimpanzes does...

In pretty much every Zoo I visited, even modern and big exhibits, great apes have no acces to trees, they are either weired, to stop the apes to climb on them, or are not even present. My question is why. (With few exeptions like the Gorilas exhibit in Apenheul) Zoos don't give them acces...

Free-roaming orang-utans. Not sure if Sumatran or Bornean.
