I made this thread to bust the popular “Sugar glider co-hab = bad idea” rumor, or not. It’s still an interesting idea to see if there have been any cases where a sugar glider & another mammal species roaming around in the same enclosure worked out well. Not only just a thread but also helps zoo...

This is Shemp the Sulawesi bear cuscus, one of my favorite animals from Memphis Zoo. I'm glad I did take a good photo of him!

Another Tasmanian golden possum enclosure.

I was wondering if there any particular animals that couldn't be held in an open-topped enclosure? In particular tree arboreal tree climbing animals? For instance, if someone were to make a nocturnal house with animals like bushtailed possoms, oppossums, quolls, numbats, aye-ayes, or binturongs...

Removed the red and orange channel due to the red lighting.

The second time I've seen these two, plus there was another adult possum in the same enclosure too. Taken at about 17:15 today.

The enter the enclosure that is viewable from a little flap at the top of the enclosure so if they are asleep they will be in the part behind the bamboo screening.

After a great tip from @littleRedPanda who saw the possum yesterday at feeding time I went along this afternoon with a hope of spotting one (or even two!). The food was there for a while but sure enough a possum finally arrived at about 5pm. Glass still dirty though!

Was very lucky to see the Brush Tailed Possum take a walk with her Joey. There was a group of primary school children in the Outback Aviary with me so unfortunately they mobbed the enclosure soon after I spotted her and I couldn't 'fight' my way any nearer for a while!
