Hi Folks
Just trying to get together info on the lions at south lakes. at feeding the keeper introduced them as Barbary lions? although i hadnt heard they were "barbary" before. are they related pride? were are they from? and a year ago there was a thrid female?

Part of the tree-top walking in the South America Dome in Randers Tropical Zoo, Denmark. From here you get a fantastic birds-eye view of the dome and life in the treetops.

The enclosure for South American tapirs in the South America Dome in Randers Tropical Zoo, Denmark. This enclosure is not that big, but not bad for the tapirs. They have a nice big waterhole. In the tree above them live the sloths.

A view of the South America Dome in Randers Tropical Zoo, Denmark. Among the free-ranging animals are macaws, turkey vultures, two-toed sloths, green iguanas, golden-rumped agoutis, douroucoulis and 5 different species of marmoset and tamarins.

According to the sign this method of feeding is 'Unique in Europe'. It may have been when they started but I'm sure I have seen other collections do something very similar. Anyone else?

In a mixed exhibit with 5 spectacled bear, 2 capybara and a family of otters (aonyx cinerea - is there a South American subspecies I am not aware of as this was a South American exhibit)

View of the main fresh water exhibits at Napier Aquarium... Asian tank closest, followed by the South American tank with the African or Chiclid tank at the rear... Note: the rear is the entrance to this the first exhibit hall in the Aquarium...
