Most zoo enthusiasts visit temperate climate zoos in the summer months, for obvious reasons. Are there any temperate climate zoos that you think are better to visit in the winter rather than the summer? I personally enjoy my winter visits to the Minnesota Zoo much more than my summer visits.

The male brown bear in Copenhagen during wintertime. This male bear is quite valuable for the breeding programme, since he is born in the wild. His mother was shot in the Swedish woods, and he was then brought to Denmark to live in Copenhagen Zoo. He has already fathered many cubs.

The young female polar bear in Copenhagen Zoo always enjoy the snow during winter, and spends a lot of time just rolling around in it.

Even though the ground is covered with snow, these tropical caribbean flamingoes still enjoy walking around their enclosure (no, they are not forced out).
