One of the most common and geographically widespread species of zebra found in Africa, recognized for their broader stripes, and are commonly found in large social herds where they keep an eye out for predators.

Hartmann's mountain zebra (Equus zebra hartmannae)

Seen in the second exhibit of the Savanna part during the drive-in safari. Mixed with Ostriches, Blue Wildebeest, Watusi cattle, Common Eland and Rhinoceros.

This guy was very close of my car.

Seen in the "Brousse" second exhibit. Mixed with Blue Wildebeest, Defassa Waterbuck, Impala and Springboks.

At just 2 years old, he's currently the youngest of the zoo's equines (February 2024).
