Earlier this month Berlin Zoo's oldest resident passed away, namely 75-year old male Ingo the flamingo. The inscription on the ring of Ingo's leg "Cairo, 23.6.1948", he had lived in the zoo since 1955!

Hi Zoochatters.
I’m looking for some advice, information, and recommendations for some German zoos I’m planning to visit later this month.
First, my itinerary is looking to be the following:
Saturday 19th – arrive in Berlin (late)
Sunday 20th – Otterzentrum
Monday 21st – Tierpark Berlin...

James Flamingo hatched and a healthy chick is around, bringing the group up to 7 individuals. The Press report states that besides a very old animal at Wuppertal, it's the only group in any Zoo.
