Hi all,

Thought you would all be interested to know that on the 10th August 2012, Linton Zoo will be having a late night closing event. The zoo will be open from 10 till half past seven!

The reason for this is to celebrate the zoos oldest pair of lions turning ten years old this year, so why not come along to the zoo to see lion feeds and special lion talks.

The price to get in as the normal admission fee with no extra charge to see the feeds or the talks. This will hopefully be a very popular event, as the best part of the zoo visit is always in the evening, so why not enjoy yourself at the zoo on the evening of the 10th August.

Thanks, i may go to this, i was away for the other late opening recently. Funny, i thought the older pair were more than 10.
Shame i didn't get to the late opening while the clouded leopards were there, i might have actually seen one! Are the ground hornbill permanently in that enclosure and what has happened to the neighbouring one? The mammal collection is diminishing, so i really hope that isn't turned into an aviary too!

Many thanks for bringing this event to my attention.

I was at Linton Zoo this afternoon. I stayed in the zoo for the big cat talks this evening; they were very interesting and enjoyable.

Glad to know that you enjoyed yourself Tim,

I am the James who gave the talks, it's fantastic to hear such a great review.

I hadn’t appreciated that it was actually you who gave the talks.

Your obvious enthusiasm for big cats in general (and lions in particular) made the talks thoroughly enjoyable.

Please post details on ZooChat of any similar future events.

A similiar event is planned for this sunday on the 10th August. Lion walk and talk will begin at 5:15 with the feed to conclude.

Hope some of you can make it again this year! There is a new thread up for details.
