Disney's Animal Kingdom® Park 2013 News

I just wonder about some animal changes for DAK I saw at allears.net.
- Is it correct that DAK no longer has Gerenuks? (and if so: What animals are in their former exhibit now?)
- Is it correct that Mhorr gazelles have replaced the Thomson gazelles in the Savanna exhibit? (and if so: What's happen with the Thommies?)
- Is the Malayan Tapir exhibit still "tapir free" or has Disney aquired new individuals from this species finally (or are there plans for a new species for this exhibit)?
Hope, some DAK-Fans are able to answer those questions. Anyway - Thank you very much in advance.

I went to DAK at the end of June. There were no Gerenuks to be found and I don't remember seeing any signs anymore either. I asked a girl that was in that viewing area answering questions and she didn't even know what a Gerenuk was. She said all that was there now were the Meerkats.
Malayan Tapir exhibit had Cranes in it. I believe they were Sarus Cranes(didn't really look at their sign). No Tapir sign to be found.
Definitely did not see any Mhorr Gazelle on the safari ride. I thought the safari guide actually said they had Springbok out there. Didn't get a really close look at them, they were pretty far off the road.
Couple of other notes were they have some new female Banteng that hadn't been released onto exhibit yet to be with their lone male. They are also having some problems with their new zebras at the end of the safari ride. They weren't on exhibit and I was told that one ran into a tree and knocked itself out.
Not sure about the gorillas.

This is not "news" but I would highly recommend the Disney field guide that was published in 2000. It has 152 glossy pages and there are 58 pages devoted to plant life for all of the budding horticulturalists out there. It is neat to see the species line-up when the park was only a couple of years old and in truth the zoo has not changed very much since that time period. That means that the book is perhaps just as relevant as ever.
