2015 Saiga Antelope Deaths Solved

The last sentence (of the first article) says this shows the importance of maintaining large populations. I would further add this shows the importance of having backup populations in northern climate zoological parks. Some good options that pop quickly to mind include Minnesota Zoo (USA), Highland Wildlife Park (UK), Zoo Salzburg (Austria).

Unfortunately HWP is not a good option - the species has been held there in the past, and the Scottish climate proved too wet for a sustained population :(

Hmmm, then we are looking for cold and dry. High altitudes of Wyoming, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho, Utah? Not that all of those locales have zoos, but maybe a couple. Hogle Zoo? Zoo Boise? Wildlife West? Zoo Montana?
