21 cheetahs IDed in Iran since March :)

One thing seems to be going right in 2020! The Iranian province of Semnan took major steps to make the area safer for cheetahs, clearing livestock from 500,000 hectares of Turan, including all of Turan National Park. The effort seems to have paid off. Since March, camera traps have taken clear photos of 21 individual cats. 13 of the cats already have identity cards, meaning 8 were likely unknown to those monitoring the population.

I took a look at new posts, briefly skimmed over the title and was shocked because I thought for a second it said "21 cheated DIED in Iran since March ". I was both very concerned why you put a smiley face and saddened by this fact. I'm glad this isn't the case though. This is great news!

I read the same and has a similar reaction , glad there hasn't been a mass mortality of cheetahs.
