Zoo Wuppertal 30 little penguins imported

Wuppertal zoo has imported a group of 30 little or blue penguins from the Taronga zoo in Sydney.
The birds arrived this week.
Hopefully this will kick start the breeding of these delightful birds.

Very interesting news. I honestly thought we'd seen the last of these little guys in Europe (and if some come to the UK, even better!). Good ol' Wuppertal - proper, good-sized group as well - just what's needed.

Update; According to rumours on the Dutch forum, all 30 would stay in Wuppertal and Edinburgh would get their own shipment in 2012. Trying to find out what is true...
