A New Aquarium for Mexico City?

This is a plan put forwad by the cities government , and backed by Lopez Obrador a former presidential candidate , but still its uncertain whether these plans will come to anything substantial.
 
Surprising news today. All attempts to build an aquarium for Mexico city have gone down the drain. But now, Carlos Slim, the second richest man on the planet, a libanese - mexican billionare has annouced he will build the largest aquarium in the country, next to his fine Museo de Arte Soumaya in the exclusive Polanco section of Mexico City. It will be called Museo del Mar and Slim spokepersons at the Carso foundation say it will be completed by next year, 2014.

Thanks for the interesting information. Is there any word on what kind of exhibits and animals it will have in it?
 
It has been annouced that the mexico city public aquarium built by the CARSO foundation will be inaugurated on the 31st of May.
 
At last, The Acuario Inbursa de la ciudad de Mexico was inaugurated yesterday by Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera and libanese mexican billionare Carlos Slim. The aquarium covers one city block and has four levels. Public opening will be on June 11th. Look forward to photos and a review soon here on zoochat.

I look forward to your review and photos. Has there been any advance word on what the star attractions of the aquarium will be?

From this article it looks like there is a large reef tank with sharks and a penguin exhibit. The article mentions that there will be two penguin species, but not which ones.
