Smithsonian National Zoo About some visiting point

Hi everyone, I plan to visit National Zoo and National Aquarium at the end of this month, and I wonder if there is something I need to prepare or I should notice? Thanks a lot!

The highlights of National Zoo, IMO, are the reptile house, Asia, and the new bird house (which I have not seen). Start early, it can get very crowded as the day goes on. You still need an Entry Pass, which is free. No one checked our entry pass in the two times that I entered, but I have read articles about people being turned away at the gate that did not have a entry pass.

Do Asia Trail first, or else the animals there will be much harder to see.

Other major highlights include Amazonia, as well as the O-Line if you get lucky enough to see the Orangutans using it.

There are timed ticket requirements for the National Aquarium as well and can be purchased online. Walk-ups are not guaranteed a time upon your arrival. Arrive right when the aquarium opens at 9 or arrive past 4 to avoid the crowds.

For the zoo, get there as early as possible (grounds open at 8am) and do Asia first. Waiting even an hour or two can be the difference between seeing all the species vs seeing none of them

That's definitely, I always waiting at the front door for the zoo to open it
