Chester Zoo Adopter Day

This year is the first time i have adopted from the zoo and i am planning on attending the adopter day in March.
Has anyone on here been to one before so can sort of tell me what to expect ie. is it going to still be pretty busy and does it revolve around your adopted animal? :)

Chester adopter days - They are normally busier than normal in terms of visitor numbers with the extra people being there. The main part of the day is a scheduled meeting with all the adopters of said adopted species meeting the keeper at a certain place and time for a talk about the species in general and normally a minor update of the individuals of that species at Chester where appropriate.

The times and places to meet your keeper should be written down somewhere on your adopters pack paperwork

Ahh thank you Nisha, i didn't know whether it would be busier than normal or not so at least i know what to expect now. I have my keeper talk time in my pack so thats all sorted, i suspect the giraffe enclosure to become pretty busy at the time of the talk :)

It is now! ;) perk of being a moderator, lol.

Haha, thank you!!

We've planned to arrive early and are now prepared for the hectic crowds. Thanks to everyone who helped :)
Is anyone else going to this day from the forum?

Agree wholeheartedly with the 'it's bleeding manic' comments - I will go to CZ at the drop of a hat but tend to avoid adopters day like the plague, last one I accidentally turned up to was admittedly whilst the zoo were revamping the entrance and there was absolutely nowhere to park after 1pm apparently. So you do right by getting there early, remember the front gate actually opens at 09.30 so you can park up and enjoy a brew and even a breakfast butty if you like before the zoo proper opens at 10am

I'm so glad i posted this thread because i hadn't expected the type of hecticness you've all told me about.
As we are travelling which takes about 3 hours we're going to aim to be there for between 10 and 11 as long as all goes according to plan traffic wise - the earlier the better!

The adopter day is a good excuse for me to justify a trip there before the summer when we will no doubt return again, i'm just glad i'm more prepared now!
