Weltvogelpark Walsrode Advice for visiting Walsrode

I'll be visiting next week. We're flying into Hanover. Is it best to stay in Hannover and travel to Walsrode? There don't seem to be many hotels near the park. How best to get top the park? Seems to be a 30 minute walk from the station. I'm okay with walking but it does eating your time at the zoo!

Few years ago there was a bus stop at the weltvogelpark, although it had a lot of stops along the way around the nearby villages so at the end it took almost the same time than walk XD. I remember there was also a direct one from the train station during summer, but sure other people can give you more updated info.
 
Yeah, I remember taking the bus barely saves you time. In fact, it might take longer if you include waiting for the bus. Just walk - you'll get to see the town, and the second half of the walk takes you through a nice wooded area.
 
It opens only at 10 am, so plenty of timing for walking.

I once took bus 511 dir. Bad Fallingbostel form the station, it should still serve the birdpark and it's less than 10 min.
