Im looking at planning a trip to see African Elephants, due to time and financial constraints I am limited to UK zoos. What would be the best place to go to see African Elephants, in the UK, in terms of enclosure design, visibility, activity levels and encounters. I have only just started researching but so far I think Colchester would be the best as you are able to feed the animals, although I am not sure whether this is an extra you have to pay for. Thanks in advance.

There are regular public feed the elephants sessions at Colchester zoo throughout the day. These are included in the admission price.
Howletts however is probably the best place to see African elephants in the uk with a large number and a range of ages.
