Akamba Tropical House Akamba Tropical House has closed

I didn't even know it had existed. Some details on its location, when it opened and what was there would be welcome.
Our Maps page says that it was in Birmingham and there are some nice photos in its Gallery pages, but they are several years old.

It was located in Shirley (a part of Solihul) in the West Midlands, a few minutes walk from Whitlocks End railway station. Whitlocks End is in between Birmingham and Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Sorry Zooboy, I do not know when it opened. The animal part closed aaround 5-6 years ago on the advice of DEFRA because of the bird flu epidemic in the U.K.

The Heritage and Garden Centre is still open and includes a 'metal zoo' sculptures of African animals. The Centre celebrates the culture of the Akamba people of Kenya.
