I believe the domestic chinchillas are representing wild ones. This is in the former larger fruit bat habitat. The zoo will still have the smaller bat habitat, but only a colony of males.

Chinchillas are in the loris exhibit. Porcupine is in the bat exhibit. The zoo replied to my Facebook comment on the video asking about Ricotta and it was revealed he is moving to a different zoo.


(Side note - I could have sworn they had a female loris too not too long ago. Did the female pass?)

I saw that after posting. They have only had one loris this earlier this year. I am curious if the porcupine will eventually get a companion. Possibly from a different species.

They do. They also have a North American porcupine named Willow.

They have at least 2, as I've seen staff with Forrest the North American Porcupine around the zoo a few times

I meant Forrest. Willow was their previous one that lived in Nature’s Theater.

On August 12th, it was announced that the zoo transferred an eastern screech owl to Louisville Zoo in Kentucky.

On November 12th, it was announced that the zoo acquired a (1m.0) yellow-backed duiker from Los Angeles Zoo in California.

On November 14th, it was announced that the zoo transferred a (1m.0) Andean condor named Luca to Brandywine Zoo in Delaware.

Guess we know what is replacing the gazelles, though I figured it was going to be a duiker.

I can confirm that. They will have a pair of them. The habitat will be modified to have appropriate plants in it.
